Glamorgan pub plan shows it is asset of community value

Well I dont really want to see the Glamorgan building vanish, but there again why did it close – presumably because it was not financially viable.  I did visit and it never rated very high for me!!

 

If the premises last long enough then circumstances are changing and all those yuppy flats are nearly ready, so may be, just may be, some of the occupants might just use the place.  A decent restaurant might just help, especially when the Porter and Sorter has gone.

 

Personally I have my doubts as they are likely to be more interested in scuttling from the station and back again!

 

But could be given a try first, BEFOPRE demolition.

Brexit uncertainties that could make Westfield a retail dinosaur

Well, words like I told you so come to mind!!
With all the shopping available on Purley Way, including a John Lewis home store, who actually wants to return to a rejuvenated Whitgift Centre, called Westland Mall?  For what it is its fine as it stands, though is it possible to develop all the yuppy flats without rebuilding the ground and first floors?

First St Georges Walk becomes a tip, now we have the potential for the Whitgift Centre to do the same, we must have some sympathy for the Councilors who want to see something better and to bring the town centre back up to what it once was when Grants, Allders and Kennards once ruled.

 

Time marches on – but is it an improvement?
